Grants & Programmes
AEG Construction Delivers
AEG Delivers Grant & Loan-Funded Programmes
AEG Construction delivers a wide range of government-backed grant and decarbonisation programmes, managing eligibility, surveys, mobilisation, installation, compliance, and reporting to ensure funding translates into high-quality, compliant outcomes. You can also check your eligibility to see which funding routes may be available for your property or project.
Alongside grant-funded routes, we also support the able-to-pay market, helping homeowners, landlords, developers, and commercial clients access tailored retrofit and decarbonisation programmes to meet MEES requirements and EPC targets where full grant funding is unavailable.

Homeowners not receiving qualifying benefits where schemes are targeted at fuel-poor or vulnerable households.
Private landlords
When grants are restricted to owner-occupied or social housing properties.
New-build properties
Homes recently constructed or occupied within a defined period.
Higher EPC ratings
Where properties already meet minimum energy performance standards.

Applicants who do not meet property or scheme-specific requirements, such as construction type or location.
Affordability & eligibility checks
Households failing affordability or eligibility checks required by certain government-backed schemes.
The Warm Homes Plan is a UK-wide government initiative designed to make homes warmer, cheaper to heat, and more energy efficient. The plan focuses on tackling fuel poverty, cutting household energy bills, and supporting the UK’s long-term climate and decarbonisation goals through structured grants and loans.
Through targeted funding and delivery programmes, the Warm Homes Plan aims to upgrade millions of homes with insulation, low-carbon heating, and modern energy-saving measures. Homeowners can also check their eligibility to find the most suitable support route.
Tackle fuel poverty
Support households most at risk from high heating costs.
Cut energy bills
Improve efficiency so homes need less energy to stay warm.
Support decarbonisation
Help deliver long-term climate and net zero objectives.
Upgrade homes at scale
Insulation, low-carbon heating, and energy-saving measures.
GREEN HOMES WALES
Green Homes Wales – Interest-Free Loans
Green Homes Wales is a Welsh Government–backed scheme offering interest-free loans to homeowners looking to improve the energy efficiency of their homes. It is currently one of the only active government-supported loan schemes in the UK providing zero-interest finance for home energy upgrades.
The scheme helps homeowners spread the cost of improvements such as insulation, renewable technologies, and low-carbon heating without the pressure of upfront payments or interest charges.
How the Retrofit Loan Process Works
Initial Enquiry & Property Review
Homeowners contact AEG Construction to discuss their property, energy concerns, and upgrade goals. An initial review confirms whether loan-funded options are suitable.
Home Energy Assessment
A professional assessment identifies heat loss, system inefficiencies, and recommended energy-efficiency improvements aligned with EPC or MEES requirements.
Loan & Finance Options Explained
Available retrofit loan options are clearly outlined, including repayment terms and affordability considerations, helping homeowners choose the most suitable finance route.
Upgrade Design & Cost Breakdown
A tailored upgrade plan is created, detailing recommended measures, expected benefits, and transparent costs before any work begins.
Finance Approval & Scheduling
Once finance is approved, AEG Construction schedules the works, coordinating installers and materials to minimise disruption.
Professional Installation
Certified installers complete the agreed upgrades to recognised standards, ensuring quality, safety, and long-term performance.
Final Checks & Compliance Sign-Off
All installations are checked, documented, and signed off to confirm compliance with regulations and funding requirements.
Aftercare & Ongoing Support
Homeowners receive guidance, documentation, and support to ensure their loan-funded upgrades continue delivering comfort and energy savings.
Loan Amounts
Loan values typically range from £1,000 to £25,000, with higher amounts sometimes available for larger or more complex retrofit projects.
Repayment Period
Interest-free repayment periods of up to 10 years, allowing homeowners to spread costs comfortably over time.
Repayment Holiday
A six-month repayment holiday is often available after installation, giving homeowners time to benefit from energy savings before repayments begin.
This structure makes it easier to manage upgrade costs while improving long-term household energy performance.

Charities and Community Groups
Charities and community groups are often the first point of contact for residents who need help improving their home’s energy efficiency. Working alongside funding providers and delivery partners, they help people understand what support is available — from grants to affordable finance — and what steps to take next.
These organisations also strengthen delivery by raising awareness locally, making trusted referrals, and supporting applications for households who may be vulnerable, time-poor, or harder to reach.
